Mining Exchange with the University of Queens

The University of Queens in Canada and Universidad Catolica, Chile, have initiated an academic exchange program to promote the training of engineers who specialize in mining. The program is sponsored by Placer Dome, which will provide scholarships for Chilean students to participate in lectures at the University of Queens and then carry out a practical study at the Dome and Endako mines in Canada.

The first students to benefit from this program are two from the Universidad Catolica and two from the University of Queens. The latter will carry out their practical study at the Mantos de Oro and Zaldivar mines in northern Chile.
