NCR sees Brazil as top growth market

US technology solutions provider NCR (NYSE: NCR) sees Brazil as its top growth market in Latin America for ATM sales during the next couple of years, Agustín Guzmán, NCR's financial solutions director for Latin America told BNamericas. The company also expects solid growth in countries such as Chile, Colombia, Perú, Panamá, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic and Mexico, he said. Brazil is the only country in the region where NCR has a production facility but Guzmán said the company is conducting regular "due diligences" to see if customer demand requires a greater local presence. In terms of its self-service offering in Latin America, NCR plans to enhance its security-related services to help its customers combat and reduce ATM fraud, he said. In terms of ATM technology, Guzmán said cash dispensing is still primary in the region but more advance function with multi-vendor, Windows-based software are "gaining interest" among Latin America banks. NCR is a global technology solutions provider with some 29,000 employees worldwide.
