Step-Out Drilling Expands Pampa Zone at Orvana's Pederson Project

Bnamericas Published: Wednesday, November 06, 1996
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Orvana Minerals Corp. (ORV-T) is pleased to announce the assay results on four additional drill holes testing the Pampa Zone at its Pederson Project, Bolivia. Orvana extended its original drilling program to test potential open to the northwest of the Pampa Zone (See October 2 release). Six holes were drilled to test this northwest extension under the Pampa. The results of the first three holes are listed below. The remainder will be reported when available. The fourth hole was drilled in the southeast extension. The significance of the results is:

Intersections of potential ore grades and thickness continue to the northwest (P-93, 94, 95).

This mineralization remains unbounded to the north and west and demonstrates a significant increase in the mineral resource.

The grades and thicknesses continue to suggest the bulk mineability of the emerging resource.

These gold grades are higher than grades previously encountered in the Pampa Zone.

Hole P-96 confirms continuity of mineralization between the central Pampa Zone and the southeast extension (See October 2 release).

For a table of significant assay results please refer to contact below.

Assay results for an additional three holes in the northwest Pampa extension and 26 holes in the Pampa West, Main, Central and Toroca Zones are pending. Upon receipt of these results Orvana will calculate and publish a resource estimate, which will add significantly to the previously published estimate. An example is that the mineralization identified on Cross Section 6140 North projected 50 metres to the north and 50 metres to the south of the section describes 2.5 to 3.0 million tonnes with a weighted average grade of 2.0 grams of gold per tonne on this section alone.
