TDA selects consultant for Petrobras fire control

The US Trade and Development Agency (TDA) has selected consultant Ronald Robinson to carry out a definitional mission regarding feasibility studies on the installation and upgrade of fire control equipment at refineries belonging to Brazil's federal energy company Petrobras, the TDA said. Petrobras has 11 refineries in Brazil, two in Bolivia and three in Argentina. Total installed capacity was 2.11 million barrels of oil a day (mb/d) at end-2003, with some 1.65mb/d actually processed, giving the refineries a 79% utilization rate.
