Venezuela 2nd Largest US Crude Supplier in 1998

Venezuela was the second largest crude oil supplier to the US in 1998, shipping an average 1.36 million barrels per day (bpd) to that country. Only Saudi Arabia sold more, averaging 1.39 million bpd, according the US Energy Department (DOE), which added that Venezuela was the largest supplier of all petroleum-based products to the US last year. United States crude oil imports rose 8.4% in 1998 to average 8.55 million bpd.
