Cepsa secures Peru exploration green light

Peruvian authorities have approved an exploration project planned by Cepsa in the Ucayali region, BNamericas has learned. The US$35mn, 36-month campaign includes five exploration and four confirmation wells on block 114 in Iparía district, according to the EIS approved by the energy and mines ministry's energy environmental affairs department. The Spanish company filed the environmental document in October 2012. In Peru, Cepsa also holds blocks 130 and 131. Environmental permitting is underway for a US$65mn exploration program on block 130.
