Cessi may open office in London or Madrid in 2014

Argentine software and IT enterprises chamber Cessi may open a software promotion office in Europe in 2014, Cessi VP Diego Berardo, told BNamericas.

The executive said that the two possible locations for the software promotion office are London and Madrid. According to Berardo, Spain is currently the largest market for Argentine software and IT services in Europe.

During 2013, Cessi has boosted a plan to open offices abroad to promote local IT services and software. Under this initiative the sector's chamber has already opened offices in the US, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and Chile.

Through its internationalization program, dubbed ArgenTIna IT, Cessi aims to help Argentine IT firms boost their exports to foreign markets and provides support to companies participating in trade missions and IT fairs abroad.

Berardo said that some IT firms were also willing to boost the opening of a hub for Central America in Panama. However, he added that this is not yet confirmed and that the plan for 2014 is to consolidate the existing offices.

Software and IT service exports will reach a total of US$875mn in 2013, climbing 17% compared to exports in 2012, according to Berardo.​
