Chilean startup Justo eyes Costa Rica, Ecuador
After establishing itself in Colombia, Chilean e-commerce startup Justo is eyeing opportunities in Costa Rica and Ecuador, CEO Nicolás López told BNamericas.
The company started in Chile in 2018, and expanded to Peru and Mexico last year in August.
Colombia operations started in January, helped by a US$2.3mn boost from a financing round.
"Colombia is the fourth country in Latin America to which we arrived and so far we already work with 100 restaurants in various cities in the country. In June we reached 5mn orders," López said.
The company offers an end-to-end solution for restaurants, including taking orders through its e-commerce store and handling home delivery.
“We take care of the creation of their website with a self-managing shopping cart, and we integrate it with all the necessary tools so that they can sell online. In addition, through the application we gave them a second showcase to generate higher sales,” according to López.
The company markets the solution as software-as-a-service (SaaS) so customers can focus solely on their core business.
Justo relies on AWS infrastructure, MongoDB Atlas for data storage and processing, Twilio for communication with customers and distributors, and Kushki as a payment gateway.
Some technologies the company uses are React, React Native, GraphQL, Node JS, Mongo DB, and Orion JS.
Justo’s platform houses over 7,000 stores.
Retail e-commerce is expanding in Latin America. According to consulting firm eMarketer, electronic retail sales will increase 26.7% this year to US$84.9bn.
