
Chile's Banco Estado places 10-yr bond in Japan

Chile's state-owned Banco Estado placed a 10bn yens (US$95mn), 10-year bond in the Japanese market.
The bank became the first Chilean firm to place a bond linked to corporate corporate social responsibility related to the activities of women and the first Chilean firm to place a bond of this kind in the Japanese market, according to Carlos Martabit, CFO of Banco Estado.
Some 53% of the bank's clients are women and 38% of the small-business portfolio corresponds to firms run by women, according to a release from Banco Estado.
The bond was assigned an 'Aa3' rating by Moody's.
