The Ministry of Energy signed an agreement with numerous distributors in the interior of the country to regularize their contractual relationship with the wholesale company of the electricity market, to which Edenor and Edesur joined

Flavia Royon led the act of signing agreements with distributors throughout the country with the aim of cleaning up the commercial relationship with CAMMESA, within the framework of the conditions established by article 16 of decree 88.

"It is a historic day due to the number of agreements that we have signed to regularize the debts with CAMMESA, this is key to the sustainability of the system, an aspect that Minister Sergio Massa emphasized from the first moment we began his management", highlighted the Secretary of Energy.

The normalization of the situation of the distributors is carried out based on the conditions established by the 2021 Budget Law that were extended for the current year. In this norm, differential rates and a moratorium of 96 installments were set to resolve the debt status that the distribution companies had to date. In turn, the proposal includes, as a condition to normalize, as of 2023, the current generation payment to CAMMESA.

On the continuity of this mechanism, Royon clarified that "In the new Budget Law, Article 89 also contemplates the need to order the relationship between the distributors and CAMMESA."

Finally, he highlighted the importance of having reached these agreements and complying with what is stated in the 2021 Budget Law: "it is a fundamental stone for the path of ordering the energy system of our country, which is an objective of the ministry".

The event was attended by the Undersecretary of Electrical Energy, Santiago Yanotti; the Undersecretary for Institutional Coordination of Energy, Florencia Álvarez Travieso; the ENRE controller, Walter Martello; the general manager of CAMMESA, Sebastián Bonetto, and directors of the distributors throughout the country.

The signatory companies provide the service in Córdoba, Chaco, Mendoza, Misiones, Chubut (Rawson, Trelew and Sarmiento) Zárate, and the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires.
