"This new project is another step in our expansion into the important Mexican market, where we continue to contribute our global experience in renewable energy," said Paolo Romanacci, CEO of EGP Mexico and Central America. "The entry of the company to the state of Tlaxcala, which has a large amount of solar resources, confirms our commitment to support Mexico to meet its electricity needs by promoting the combination of renewable energy in the country."

Magdalena II is the first renewable energy project that begins its construction in the state of Tlaxcala. The plant will consist of more than 550,000 bifacial modules and is scheduled to enter into operation during the second half of 2019. Once it is fully operational, it will be able to generate approximately 600 GWh per year, which will prevent the emission of more than 330,000 tons of CO2 to the atmosphere every year.

The construction of Magdalena II will be based on Enel's "sustainable construction site" model, which incorporates the rational use of resources, such as the integration of water saving systems and recycling processes. EGP will also employ several innovative construction practices and tools on the site, such as intelligent component tracking and the use of advanced digital platforms and software solutions to remotely monitor and support site activities, including commissioning the plant. These tools and solutions will allow a faster, more accurate and reliable data collection in the plant's activities, improving the overall quality of the construction and facilitating communication between the teams inside and outside the work.

Enel Green Power Mexico operates around 1,816 MW, of which 675 MW come from wind energy, around 1,089 MW of solar energy and 53 MW of hydroelectric power. In the state of Coahuila, Enel Green Power is completing the 200 MW Amistad wind farm, and has begun construction of the 100 MW Amistad II wind farm, while in the state of Tamaulipas the company is building the Salitrillos wind farm. 103 MW.

Enel Green Power, the renewable energy division of the Enel Group, is dedicated to the development and operation of renewable energies throughout the world, with presence in Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Oceania. Enel Green Power is a global leader in the green energy sector with a managed capacity of around 43 GW in a generation combination that includes wind, solar, geothermal and hydroelectric power, and is at the forefront of the integration of innovative technologies in renewable energy plants.
