Febraban Finalizes Bank Response to Energy Crisis

Bnamericas
The Federation of Brazilian Banking Associations (Febraban) is putting the finishing touches on its response to the government's energy conservation plan, and will forward its proposals to the Central Bank, Agencia Folha reported. The Febraban is expected to recommend two energy saving measures. The first would move bank hours forward from 10:00-16:00 to 8:00-14:00 in order to reduce after-dark working hours for bank employees. The second proposal would be to close down most ATMs from 24:00-6:00. Nearly 99% of ATM transactions are conducted during the day, according to Febraban.
