Fitch changes La Centro Americana outlook to positive

Fitch Centroamérica is maintaining its national scale rating on Salvadoran insurer La Centro Americana at AA-(slv), the agency said in a statement. The long-term outlook has been changed from stable to positive. Fitch based its decision on the company's liquidity and capitalization, high quality assets, reserves, and the backing of parent company Mapfre. The company's main weaknesses include the risk of losing market share to lower priced competitors, operating losses and high operating costs.
