Hermes US$48mn Bid Highest in Mexico City PCS Auction

Bnamericas
Hermes group, headed by Carlos Hank Rohn, lodged a US$48mn first round bid for Mexico City's PCS frequency auction.

Hermes' bid -the highest for the lucrative Mexico City frequency- contrasts the US's Qualcomm bid for the same frequency of just US$300,300.

Alestra and Banamex-MCI were among several companies who failed to meet the minimum requirements in an erratic first round of bidding. Forty-seven of the 113 frequencies received no offers.
