IN BRIEF: Brazil pig iron output up in January
Brazilian pig iron production rose 8.5% year-on-year to 2.28Mt in January, according to steel industry association IABr.
In December, pig iron output was 2.19Mt. The country has produced 26.2Mt of the commodity over the past 12 months.
However, exports of pig iron fell 28.4% to 111,000t in January. In December, 213,000t was shipped, IABr said.
