Invías watch: Atlántico, Magdalena supervision contracts; Cauca road closing

Colombia's national roads authority Invías has awarded three supervision contracts for three projects in Atlántico department worth 2.27bn pesos (US$1.21mn), the agency said in a press release. The three projects are for the technical, administrative, financial and environmental supervision of the project to upgrade and maintain three road projects in the Atlántico part of the Caminos de Prosperidad (roads for prosperity) program. For the first module, Invías awarded the supervision contract to consortium PI-RZ 2013 after a bid of 759mn pesos. Consortium Guayacán won the bid for the second module, with a winning bid of 761mn pesos, while consortium Lonero 11 won the third module with a 751mn-peso bid. *** Invías has also awarded three supervision contracts as part of the Caminos de Prosperidad program in Magdalena department worth 2.48bn pesos, a separate release reads. The first module was awarded to consortium PI-RZ 2013 after a winning bid of 821mn pesos. Module 2 was awarded to consortium MAB-INCON with a winning bid of 789mn pesos. Module 3 was awarded to consortium DM 018 after presenting an 869mn-peso bid. Invías expects to award four new supervision contracts during the June 17-21 week, the release reads. *** Finally, Invías has authorized the closing of several sections of the Guadualejo-Belalcazar-Irlanda highway in Cauca department due to a number of landslides that have affected the highway. The closing will take place between June 14-July 11, a press release reads. The agency also approved transit restriction of the Puente sector of the Cuetanillo creek as well as the restriction of high-tonnage vehicles due to the collapse of the Capri bridge, both on the Guadualejo-Belalcazar-Irlanda highway.
