ITAIPU registered a new historical peak of daily supply to the ANDE system
This Itaipu Binational release was published using machine translation.
Last Monday, January 20, a new historical record was produced in the Daily Supply of the ITAIPU Hydroelectric Power Plant to the National Interconnected System (SIN) of the National Electricity Administration (ANDE), with an average value of 2,739 MW. The previous record, of 2,687 MW average, had been registered on January 23 of last year.
That same day, at 10:00 p.m., a new historic ITAIPU Hour Supply brand was also registered to the SIN, with an average value of 3,152 MW. The previous record, of 3,130 MW average, had been recorded at 3:00 p.m. on the same day.
It should be noted that on that date, at 9:25 p.m., the instantaneous demand peak value of the SIN of 3,539 MW was reached, the highest value of the year and second highest of the historical, being the ITAIPU Hydroelectric Power Plant, responsible for 89.5 % of that figure. The highest historical value was recorded on October 30, 2019, at 2:20 p.m., with 3,553 MW, on which occasion ITAIPU was responsible for 79.1% of the demand at that time.
These brands were made possible thanks to the exceptional performance of the ITAIPU Hydroelectric Power Plant that sufficiently meets the energy needs of the Paraguayan electrical system.
As a corollary of the conjunction of the richness of water resources, the operational and maintenance efficiency, the technical quality of the staff and the coordinated work between the electrical systems of Paraguay and Brazil, the ITAIPU Hydroelectric Power Plant managed to overcome the November 28, 2018, the 2,600,000 GWh mark of accumulated energy generation, since the beginning of production, which continues to remain as the absolute world leader, totaling at the end of 2019, a cumulative production of 2,688,207 GWh Electricity generation of clean and renewable energy source.
