Largest mining event in Brazil projects record demand

The Brazilian Mining Expo & Congress, or EXPOSIBRAM, Brazil’s largest mining event, is expected to see record attendance in 2026.

Organized by IBRAM (Brazilian Mining Institute), which brings together the country’s largest mining companies, the event takes place from August 24 to 27 in Belo Horizonte, the capital of the state of Minas Gerais.

Given the strong demand from visitors and exhibitors, IBRAM has expanded the structure compared to previous editions: the exhibition area is increasing from 15 thousand to more than 17 thousand square meters, and the number of booths is rising from 600 to more than 750. According to the organization, the numbers reflect the growing interest of domestic and international companies and reinforce the expectation of a record-breaking edition.

The growth of the event accompanies the strengthening of the role of Brazilian mining, supported by global demand for strategic minerals.

The CEO of IBRAM, Pablo Cesário, projects that EXPOSIBRAM 2026 will be the largest edition ever held, bringing together a record number of participants and exhibitors, and emphasizes that the event promotes the convergence of knowledge, technology, investments, and business opportunities for the responsible development of the sector.

The Brazilian mining sector is expecting strong growth in investments, which should total around US$77bn between 2026 and 2030, compared to the US$68bn projected for the period from 2025 to 2029, according to IBRAM estimates.
