Largo achieves record vanadium output in Brazil

Bnamericas

Toronto's Largo Resources achieved record output of vanadium from its flagship Maracás Menchen mine in Bahia, Brazil, representing about 71% of the plant's phase 1 nameplate capacity.

Output over a 24-hour period totaled 19t of vanadium pentoxide, a significant new benchmark in the ongoing ramp-up process, Largo said in a release.

The company made the first shipment of vanadium pentoxide from Bahia in early-September.

Largo has contracted a take or pay offtake agreement with Glencore for 100% of the vanadium material for six years, which takes effect with the announced start of production.

The Maracás project boasts the highest grade vanadium resource in the world and is positioned to be the lowest-cost producer in the vanadium market.
