Latin America upstream hydrocarbons roundup

Colombia's mines and energy ministry, the country's hydrocarbons regulator ANH and US embassy officials met to discuss technical, environmental and risk regulatory issues as part of the South American nation's push to develop its offshore potential.

ANH is expected to release a draft technical regulation for offshore operations shortly.

Paraguay's deputy mines and energy minister Mauricio Bejarano Martí this week met with representatives from Russia's Gazprom who expressed interest in partnering with Paraguay's state oil company Petropar to carry out E&P work.

In a 4Q15 results presentation, Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) said results from a proof of concept study in Mexico are expected in May-June and that multi-client data from Foz de Amazonas and Ceara in Brazil is available for sale.

Ecuador's state oil company Petroecuador issued a service call to determine the daily quality of crude received in lines that supply storage tanks at the Lago Agrio station and crude that is pumped from the station to the Balao maritime terminal. Offers for the 730-day contract are due February 23, according to bidding information.

ION Geophysical, which recently secured an extension to its existing multi-year seismic data processing contract with Mexico's state oil firm Pemex, attributed a 6% year-on-year increase in 4Q15 in data library revenue to higher sales in Latin America, according to ION's latest earnings release.
