The National Secretariat of Energy (SNE) published in the Official Gazette Resolution No. MIPRE-2023-0021773 that approves the Communication Strategy for the Energy Transition of the Republic of Panama
The Resolution sustains that the SNE makes efforts to carry out the changes in a participatory, fair and equitable manner, without leaving anyone behind along the way, for which reason this Communication Strategy for the Energy Transition has among its objectives: to inform the public , together with the productive sectors of the economy, on the lines of action of the Energy Transition Agenda, facilitate its acceptance at the national level and influence the change of behavior regarding the production and use of sustainable energy at the national level.
In this sense, the Communication Strategy for the Energy Transition has six specific objectives that are:
- Introduce the concepts associated with the Energy Transition and the different sustainable energy technologies adjusted to the idiosyncrasy and multiculturalism of the Republic of Panama.
- Strengthen the capacity of Panama to face the impacts of climate change through the opportunities that the Energy Transition Agenda generates.
- Create differentiated mechanisms and spaces for interaction with the key actors of the Energy Transition Agenda to disseminate the actions involved in the Panama Energy Transition Agenda.
- Create a favorable environment in the networks and in the mass media on responsible consumption, savings, efficiency, renewable energy, electric mobility, green hydrogen, together with the importance of the involvement of women and youth and native communities in the energy transition.
- Guide, coordinate, monitor the implementation of the communication actions of the Energy Transition Agenda through the specific committees the implementation of the national strategies of the Energy Transition Agenda, measuring the impact of their actions.
- Ensure that in the implementation of this communication strategy all the government actors involved and the relevant private sector adopt informative and dissemination measures, since citizens must hear the same message from all members of the energy value chain.
