Neuquén launches tender for rural transmission lines

The rural electrification work in the south of the province is part of the Agricultural Development project in Rural Areas with Junín de los Andes-Las Coloradas Electrification, for which Governor Omar Gutiérrez recently signed an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing of the Nation.

The electrification project will be executed with resources from the loan contract signed between Nation and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), within the framework of the Provincial Agricultural Services Program IV (Prosap IV).

The objective is to contribute to increase the socio-productive development of the rural areas of Junín de los Andes, Pilo Lil, San Ignacio, El Salitral and Las Coloradas, through the improvement of existing production systems under a scheme of economic, environmental sustainability And social.

The executing unit of the electrical infrastructure work will be the Provincial Energy Entity of Neuquén (EPEN), while the executing unit of the institutional strengthening component, communities and municipalities, will be the Ministry of Production and Industry.

It is composed of three components: infrastructure; training and technical assistance; and institutional strengthening. The first component seeks to incorporate and improve the electrical infrastructure in the departments Huiliches, Catán Lil, Lácar and Collón Cura; For this purpose, the construction and repowering of 268 kilometers of medium voltage overhead lines, 25 kilometers of low voltage, 79 transformer sub-stations, totaling 293 kilometers plus the incorporation of two transformer stations, is planned.

Meanwhile, training and technical assistance will focus on issues of horticultural production under cover, water management, rational use of natural resources and sustainable management, livestock production, adaptation to climate change as a pillar of sustainable production, efficient and safe use of the electric energy. They will be implemented through seminars, workshops, conferences and technical assistance services, which will be provided individually and in groups by professionals hired for this purpose.

The purpose of the institutional strengthening component is to collaborate in strengthening the EPEN, providing it with the means to provide the operation and maintenance services of the built-in electricity networks. Likewise, the communities of native peoples will be strengthened through the provision of inputs and capital goods, which will be necessary for productive improvement as well as for the diversification of existing productions.
