US structured cabling provider Panduit expects to target the mining sector in Latin America during 2012, the company's managing director for the region, Neil Corradine, told BNamericas. The executive said Panduit will focus on the Chilean, Peruvian and Colombian markets, looking to invest in increasing staff in these countries to target the mining vertical. "Our industrial products fit the needs of this industry, with very hot and humid environments," Corradine said. Corradine said Panduit will start promoting its portfolio for this industry among the main regional mining companies in the coming months. "Next year, we're planning to target the mining industry in Chile and other Andean markets. We've had great success in offering our solutions to this market in other regions, and now we're ready to offer these solutions in Latin America," Corradine said. "We see this sector as a significant growth opportunity for us." Panduit, which has traditionally been known for selling cabling, is diversifying its portfolio to implement total infrastructure solutions that incorporate cabinets, management systems, power-over-ethernet and physical network security, among other equipment. The company calls the concept Unified Physical Infrastructure.
