Perto wins US$50mn ATM contract

Brazilian bank technology supplier Perto Periféricos has won a US$50mn contract from Brazilian federal bank Banco do Brasil (BB) for the sale of 2,500 automatic banking machines, local daily Gazeta Mercantil reported. "It is one of the year's major contracts in volume and investments," Perto sales director Nori Lermen was quoted as saying. The contract includes cash dispensers, check printing terminals and complete ATMs that should be installed by November 2005 and can be increased 25%, according to Lermen. "The equipment brings new standards to BB and will be installed in all Brazil from Amapá to the south of the country," said Lermen. Perto expects to generate US$120mn in revenue in 2005.
