PetroTal submits US$83.6mn project to optimize Peru output
PetroTal, Peru's principal crude producer, has filed environmental documents to optimize production at block 95 in the northern jungle region of Loreto.
The US$83.6mn project involves relocating four production wells from the yet-to-be-built L2 Sur platform to the existing L2 Oeste platform, according to documents submitted to environmental certification service Senace.
Also included is the conversion of three existing production wells at L2 to production-water injection wells.
The proposed work follows approval in March of a modification to the detailed environmental impact study for the development of the Bretaña Norte field on the acreage.

This year through August 30, block 95 averaged 12,448b/d or 34% of total production. The company's 2026 guidance is 12,000b/d.
PetroTal's Peru holdings include producing block 131, exploration block 107, and technical evaluation agreements for areas XCVII and XCVIII.
