Report: CAF studying infra, waste, water projects

An Andean Development Corporation (CAF) mission visited Quito this week to consider financing for roadway, irrigation and waste projects in the Ecuadorian capital, newspaper Expreso reported. Specifically, the mission analyzed the city's phase-two roadway plan ("plan vial" in Spanish), which would include roads running toward the Los Chillos and Tumbaco valleys. Further, the mission studied plans to build a new solid waste dump and an irrigation system near the town of Tabacundo. The mission also is due to visit Guayaquil, Ecuador's largest city, to analyze a roadway and sewerage plan and an initiative to recover the Salado swamp. The lending instution also will discuss a provincial roadway plan, including works to extend the Unidad Nacional bridge, with Guayas governor Nicolás Lapentti.
