BUENOS AIRES, Argentina - April 22, 2022 - SAP presented the results of the first fiscal quarter of 2022 in Latin America: it is already 27 consecutive quarters reporting double-digit growth in the cloud, with a consistent increase throughout all countries of the region, particularly Brazil.
This quarter's growth is driven by the accelerated adoption of the comprehensive RISE with SAP digital transformation as a service proposal, supported by the powerful SAP S/4HANA Cloud platform: sales related to this solution grew by double digits.
“A little over a year after its launch, we are very optimistic that this complete RISE with SAP offer is setting the standard for companies in the region. Digital transformation is an imperative and giving organizations the possibility of advancing at their own pace, with the budget they have and with very high levels of efficiency, as we propose with RISE with SAP, is key to staying competitive in a increasingly globalized world,” said Cristina Palmaka, president of SAP Latin America and the Caribbean. “At this point in the journey there is no question that the cloud is the fastest, easiest and most effective way to transform business,” he added.
The Brazilian multinational Tramontina, recognized for its premium cutlery, is one of the companies in the region that relies on RISE with SAP to manage its growth. The 100+ year old company will completely revamp its technology foundation by adopting a combination of SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud to better manage its higher growth goals. Additionally, they will integrate SAP Integrated Business Planning and SAP Extended Warehouse Management to streamline their supply chain and logistics processes.
For its part, Grupo DPSP, one of the main pharmaceutical chains in Brazil, with more than 1,400 stores (under the Drogarias Pacheco and Drogaria São Paulo brands) also adopted RISE with SAP for Retail with the aim of increasing efficiency, improving the customer and guarantee omnichannel.
Another example, this time from Mexico, is Grupo Estrella Blanca, a company with more than 80 years dedicated to passenger transport and messaging. They also rely on RISE with SAP to optimize the operation of their financial systems, make decisions in real time, and centralize and facilitate access to information for their investors. It is estimated that thanks to this solution the company would reduce its total cost of ownership with a return on investment of 19%.
Talent management continues to be one of the main challenges faced by companies in the region. This explains the notable interest in SAP SuccessFactors solutions, which also showed a significant double-digit increase. Petrobras stands out in this segment, the Brazilian energy multinational that went live with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central & Recruiting to automate its human resources processes and offer self-service modalities to more than 40,000 employees. The Peruvian Minera Poderosa is another of the companies that has also joined the SAP SuccessFactors cloud to add more agility and flexibility to the management of its employees.
Another area that grew exponentially to high double digits is the SAP Business Technology Platform. It's about everything related to data management, business analytics, application development, automation and much more. FEMSA, the largest bottler of Coca-Cola products in the world, serving more than 290 million people, adopted it together with SAP Advance Financial Closing and SAP Analytics Cloud, among others, to optimize the measurement of its financial KPIs, have a more accurate economic analysis of each of its products and lines of business and optimize billing and cash management in each of the ten Latin American countries in which it operates.
Solutions related to customer experiences continue to be vital in an increasingly digital economy. That is why the SAP Customer Experience portfolio reported double-digit growth. The well-known Mexican soft drink brand Pascual incorporated the SAP Commerce Cloud solution to develop its e-commerce platform. With the demand for online sales that arose as a result of the pandemic, the Pascual Cooperative Society evolves its traditional sales model with the intention of reaching the new consumer and offering them modern and flexible purchasing models. Likewise, with this solution Pascual will seek to strengthen its presence abroad.
“The even way in which our cloud solutions have grown in the different countries of the region is an excellent indicator of how healthy our business is in Latin America and the excellent prospects we have to continue supporting organizations in the region in their efforts to be innovative, intelligent and resilient companies”, concluded Sonja Simon, CFO of SAP Latin America and the Caribbean.
The agriculture industry also continues with a growth trend and proof of this is Coonagro, the Brazilian agricultural cooperative, and Grupo Altex, a Mexican producer and processor of fruits and vegetables in a sustainable way. Both organizations adopt RISE with SAP; the first inspired by success stories of similar cooperatives in order to build a robust technology base to continue its growth and the second to optimize its technological operations and service level. Grupo Altex also seeks to replicate best practices in the agricultural sector by adding specialized SAP technology in this sector to improve its operation and management of fields and sustainably increase its production.
Globally, SAP reported 25% growth in cloud solutions revenue in constant currency (Non-IFRS). Similarly, SAP reiterates its ambition to spend 22 billion euros in cloud revenue by 2025 and its commitment to reach net zero emissions in its operations by 2023 and zero in its value chain by 2030.
