
Roundup: Cisco, Evertec, Indra
Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) has appointed Gabriel Sakata as new country manager for Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, the company said in a release.
Sakata will report to Juan Pablo Estévez, Cisco's director for the MCO region, which encompasses Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Cisco said the appointment shows the company remains committed to the region and expanding the range of products and services offered in order to meet the needs of new vertical markets.

Puerto Rican firm Evertec, a transaction processing service company, has appointed Eduardo Camargo as Chief Information Officer (CIO), the company said in a release.
He will be responsible for managing Evertec's information technology organization and infrastructure. The executive will report directly to the firm's CEO Peter Harrington.
Camargo joins Evertec from Bank of America Merrill Lynch Brazil, where he served as CIO and CTO for the last two years. Prior to that, he was deputy head of IT for HSBC Brazil from 2008 to 2011 and has also held executive management positions with Fidelity National Information Services, Inc. (NYSE: FIS) and Banco Barclays.

The Chilean unit of Spanish technology firm Indra has signed a partnership agreement with Chilean Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (UTFSM) for the joint development of technological research activities, Indra Chile said in a release.
The main goal of the agreement is the collaboration in R&D for information and communications technologies (ICT).
Also, the deal will facilitate the promotion of academic practices, both curricular and extracurricular, within Indra, a well as the offer of scholarships and fellowships from Indra for university students.
