Roundup: CPqD, Dassault Systèmes, SAP
Brazil's biggest R&D ICT firm CPqDhas been licensed as a strategic defense company by the country's defense ministry, CPqD said in a release.
The license makes the company a "preferred partner" for the development of strategic projects in the technology and telecommunications areas.
CPqD currently provides technology services for the country's three armed forces (the Army, the Navy and the Air Force). In August 2013, the company opened a defence technology development center. Among the projects being developed by CPqD is the Software-Defined Radio for Defense (RDS-Defense) system, coordinated by the Army Technology Center (CTEx).
