Roundup: Ecopetrol pipeline, Petroamerica well, minister trip to China

Colombia's state oil company Ecopetrol (NYSE: EC) has completed repair work on the Salgar-Mansilla multiproduct pipeline near the town of Guaduas in Cundinamarca department. The pipeline, which supplies fuel to parts of Colombian capital Bogotá, has been offline since last weekend due to damage caused by landslides. Work is continuing on a separate propane pipeline in the vicinity that was also damaged during last weekend's landslides. *** Elsewhere in Colombia, Canadian oil junior Petroamerica (TSX-V: PTA) has announced the spudding of the Las Maracas-2 well on the Los Ocarros block in the Llanos basin. The well will be drilled to a total depth of 13,100ft (3,992m), which should be reached by the end of June, Petroamerica said in a press release. The Calgary based firm has a 50% interest in the Los Ocarros block following a farm-in agreement signed with fellow Canadian firm Talisman Energy in January. Spanish firm Cepsa holds the balance and operates the block. *** And finally, Bolivia's hydrocarbons and energy minister José Gutiérrez has begun a 10-day trip to China to visit power generation and hydrocarbons industrialization infrastructure as part of a cooperation agreement between the countries. The official will focus on increasing ties with companies in the country, in particular to secure oil and petrochemicals equipment, the ministry said in a statement.
