SAP and Mercado Libre signed a collaboration to accelerate the exploration of use cases that drive generative artificial intelligence (AI).
Generative AI is one of the areas of AI with the greatest potential to impact companies. This technology allows new data to be created from existing data, which can be used for a wide range of applications, such as the personalization of products and services, fraud detection or the creation of creative content, among many other options.
Under the terms of the agreement, Mercado Libre will use SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) based on the rest of the SAP solutions it already has implemented (including SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba and SAP SuccessFactors) as the preferred digital platform for its integration, extension and innovation plans. In this way, Mercado Libre becomes a strategic collaborator in the concrete implementation of this emerging technology.
“We are very excited about this true co-innovation project, in which we take a step beyond the 'technology partner' model and sit down at the same table to design a joint plan to explore how generative AI can analyze our enormous volume of data and impact our innovation map,” said Alejandro Bonsignore, Finance & System Senior Manager of Mercado Libre and President of ASUG Argentina.
Among the options that are already being analyzed, some initiatives stand out to understand and anticipate financial scenarios, increase productivity in audit processes or improve the experience of collaborators in areas such as career development and recruitment.
“Mercado Libre's business is the perfect scenario for us to maximize the value of AI and fully understand its impact on industries and be able to take it to the next level,” said Matheus Souza, Chief Innovation Officer of SAP Latin America and the Caribbean. “It is an ad hoc job, in which the main value of what the technology provides will be linked to what the business asks for at all times.”
Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the way organizations operate and provide services to their customers. This agreement between Mercado Libre andSAP is an example of how AI can be used to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer experience.
“The collaboration between Mercado Libre and SAP is an important step in the adoption of generative AI by companies and as more engage in this technology, we will see even more innovative use cases with impactful potential for transformation,” he concluded. Souza.
