Totvs closes Peru contract after setting up Andean division

Brazilian IT multinational Totvs' decision to create an Andean division to boost business in the region has borne its first fruit.
The company has just closed a contract with a Peruvian firm in the civil construction segment, Totvs Andean operations head Douglas Medeiros told BNamericas.
According to Medeiros, the deal was closed on Thursday (Feb. 26), but the client cannot be made public yet.
He also said Totvs is in advanced talks to close new contracts in the coming days and weeks, although he did not specify whether these contracts would be in Colombia, Peru or Ecuador.
The creation of an Andean division, with a hub in Bogotá, was aimed at bolstering Totvs' local ecosystem of channels and partners, with know-how and training, offering a more personalized service to current clients and expanding the portfolio with new customers.
The legal entity in Colombia was formally founded at the beginning of February.
"Our objective is to sell all of our products via channels," he said.
Medeiros' team has already begun reaching out to its local partners for training and know-how.
Although the initial focus of the new division is on strategic cities in the three Andean countries, this process is taking place mostly in Colombia at first. Totvs already maintains channels in Bogotá, Cali and Barranquilla, and is on the lookout for a partner in Medellín.
The executive said there is no goal for a specific number of new channels. "Our focus is quality, not quantity."
