Global communications and software service provider Unify (formerly Siemens Enterprise Communications) saw its order volume in Argentina expand by nearly 40% in the last fiscal year ended September 30 compared to the previous year, company director for the Southern Cone, Daniel Corrado, told BNamericas.

"In our Chilean operations, the volume of orders expanded 11% this last fiscal year versus the previous year," Corrado said.

The firm's Southern Cone business includes operations in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Corrado said that Unify has local subsidiaries in both Argentina and Chile while in the rest of the markets, it operates through distributors. "Our operations in the Southern Cone as a whole experienced an expansion of nearly 25-27% last fiscal year," the executive said.

Corrado said that the firm saw significant demand for hosted platforms and video solutions across all markets in the Southern Cone, but especially in Argentina.

Unify's Southern Cone operations currently represent nearly 27% of the company's Latin American business, Corrado said.

The executive also said that 60% of the firm's business in the sub-region comes from services, while the rest of the revenues come from the sale of equipment for the SME segment.

In the Southern Cone, Unify has some 2,500 clients in the corporate segment. "In Argentina we currently have 1,500 clients, while in Chile we have nearly 450 clients," he added.
