Description: Pascua-Lama, the world's first binational mining project, seeks to develop an underground gold mine. It is one of the world's largest gold and silver resources. The mine is expected to have low operating costs and the potential to generate significant free cash flow. The project will require 5,500 workers during the construction phase and will then generate 1,600 direct jobs and 4,000 indirect jobs during the ensuing operational phase. Straddling the border of Argentina and Chile, the project is located in Chile's Huasco province in the Atacama region, and Argentina's San Juan province at an elevation of 4,000m.
