Mexican bank Banco Nacional de México, a subsidiary of Grupo Financiero Banamex, provides a wide range of banking products and services to individual customers, businesses and government entities. The bank offers debit cards, savings accounts, loans and investment advisory services. Its SME services, Inversión Empresarial Banamex, include business loans and investment advice capable of generating returns and surplus capital. It operates more than 1,662 branches and 5,800 ATMs. Banamex was created in 1884 through the merger of Banco Nacional Mexicano and Banco Mercantil Mexicano. The bank was incorporated into US banking giant Citigroup in 2002.
