Banco da Amazônia S.A. is a Brazilian mixed ownership financial institution offering a range of banking products and services to corporate clients, small and medium-sized companies, small business entrepreneurs, governmental institutions and individual customers. The bank offers checking and savings accounts, tax collection services, investment and funding, loans, and credit cards services, among other financial products. Controlled by Brazil's Federal Government, the bank is focused on the sustainable development of the Amazônia Legal region. Banco da Amazônia was founded in 1942 as Banco de Crédito da Borracha to promote the development of rubber tapping activities, in 1966 it adopted its current name. The bank is headquartered in Belem, in Brazil's Para state.
