Peruvian securities regulator, SMV, was created in 1968 to promote and supervise the stock market. It establishes accounting standards and oversees the appropriate management of businesses. SMV regulates firms and entities that participate in this market, including stock exchanges, corporate agents, and businesses. It is a regulatory body of internal public rights and enjoys economic, administrative and functional autonomy.
