Based in Campinas, São Paulo state, Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz (CPFL Paulista) is a listed electric power distributor founded in 1912 and subsidiary of Brazilian holding company CPFL Energia. In 2015, the firm distributed power to 4.2mn people, a 2.2% increase from the previous year. Year on year, power distributed in 2015 to captive costumers fell 3.4% to 22,068GWh, while power for the free market registered a 4.8% drop to 7,861GWh. The company has a 30-year concession contract that expires in November 2027 and can be renewed for up to 30 years more. The concession covers an area of 234 municipalities in the central region of São Paulo State, serving cities such as Campinas, Ribeirão Preto, Bauru and São José do Rio Preto.
