Ferbasa is a Brazilian mining company engaged in the production and marketing of ferroalloys, including chromium alloys and silicon ferroalloys. The company operates in the areas of mining, reforestation, and metallurgy in Brazil. Ferbasa is South America's only chrome alloys producer and holds 85% of the country's chromite reserves. Its plant in Pojuca processes alloys from the company's 24 mines in Formoso and Andorinhas. Ferbasa was founded in 1961 and is based in northeastern Bahia state.
