Golden Minerals is a precious metals mining company with assets and projects in Mexico and Argentina. The company was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Colorado. In Mexico, the company owns the Velardeña gold and silver property in Durango state, comprising two formerly producing underground mines and two processing plants for sulphide and oxide ore. The Velardeña oxide plant is currently leased to Hecla Mining Company. The company is conducting exploration on the 1,900ha Rodeo gold project, also in Durango state, and on the Santa Maria gold and silver project in Chihuahua state. In Argentina, the company holds the El Quevar silver project in Salta province. In 2016, US company Electrum Gold Holdings signed an earn-in agreement for Golden Minerals' Celaya gold project in Mexico.
