Brazilian non-profit organization Instituto Aço Brasil (IABr) aims to boost competition and sustainability in the domestic steel industry. Its main function is acting as the trade association of the steel industry representing companies before national and international state and private bodies and agencies. Managed by 11 corporate groups, the institution conducts studies and research in the steel sector related to production activities, equipment and technology, raw material and energy, environment, market trends and innovative applications. Aço Brasil was founded in 1963 and is headquartered in Rio de Janeiro.
