Vancouver-based Orex Minerals Inc. is a Canadian junior gold, silver, and copper mining company engaged in the acquisition and exploration of mineral properties domestically and in Mexico. The company owns a gold project in Sweden, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Barsele Minerals. In Mexico, Orex Minerals participates in two joint ventures. The first, with Canasil Resources Inc., owns the Sandra Escobar silver-gold project, with Orex acting as the operator. The Sandra Escobar project, located 180km north of the city of Durango, comprises an 17,860 acres area. Pursuant to the option agreement signed with Canasil Resources in 2015, the company can earn up to 65% of ownership in the project subject to certain payments. The second JV, with Fresnillo PLC, owns the gold-silver Coneto Project, located 100km north of the city of Durango, which is being developed by Exploraciones y Desarrollos Mineros Coneto S.A.P.I. de C.V (EDMC), with Fresnillo holding a majority interest of 55% and Orex, the balance. Coneto spans 38,800 acres of mineral concessions. The company was incorporated in 1996.
