US-based credit reporting firm Equifax (NYSE: EFX) has bought a Costa Rican rival Datum for an undisclosed sum as part of its Latin American expansion.
Equifax already operates a large IT center in Costa Rican capital San José. Elsewhere in Central America, the firm does business in El Salvador and Honduras.
Datum provides consumer credit data to Costa Rican banks, insurers, telecommunications companies and retailers.
