Remittances rise 13.9% in Q2

Remittances to Ecuador rose 13.9% in the second quarter compared to the same period last year, according to figures from the country's central bank.

Remittances were US$626mn in 2Q11, up 6.2% on 1Q11.

The highest contribution came from Ecuadorians in the US, representing 43.3% of the total, followed closely by Spain at 41.6%.
