Thursday, November 3, 2011

Brazil's third biggest bank, Bradesco (NYSE: BBD), will in January next year start to sell insurance policies to low-income individuals through mobile phones and POS terminals, local news agency Agência Estado reported.

Bradesco, which is also the country's largest insurer, will begin a pilot run in December in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro before making the official launch, the report said.

The bank will initially sell personal accident and burial insurance policies through these new distribution channels.
