A mobile operator in Latin America's Southern Cone region has selected Israeli wireless backhaul solutions provider Ceragon Networks (Nasdaq: CRNT) to provide long-haul connectivity for new 3G sites and increased capacity for its enterprise users, Ceragon said in a statement without revealing the client's name.
Ceragon is currently the sole supplier for these sites. The network rollout will start in the first quarter of 2012 and continue to run throughout the year.
Ceragon's Evolution IP Long Haul will enable a higher-level capacity for ethernet bandwidth and 2G/3G voice and data implementations across the network. This will allow the operator to deal with the high bandwidth growth in Latin America.
Ceragon has 20 offices worldwide, including offices in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and Argentina.
