Cisco deploys medical-grade network for San Vicente de Paul hospital

Colombian hospital San Vicente de Paul has selected Cisco to implement a medical-grade network, the latter said in a statement without reporting the price tag.

The network will connect employees at the hospital with vital information and services. Orange Business Services, a Cisco silver certified partner, will install the network.

The Cisco solution will help to meet the hospital's security, interoperability, availability and productivity requirements, the company said. The solution includes several features, such as visitors access, mobility, nurse calls, integrated intrusion detection and localization services.

The network also provides voice over WLAN, data center virtualization and desktop virtualization. The local and peripheral networks (LAN and WAN) will use Cisco technology to provide highly secure access to voice, data and video, for fixed and wireless connections, the company added.
