MOP receives bids for Manabí hwy projects

Ecuador's public works ministry (MOP) has received proposals from companies for the execution of US$53.6mn highway works in Manabí province, minister Derlis Palacios said on the presidential website.

The works will include the reconstruction, expansion, improvement and maintenance of 88km of highways and the construction of 337m of bridges.

The seven enterprises that presented bids for reconstruction and maintenance works along the 50km Chone-Flavio Alfaro highway were: Carlos Poggi Barbieri, Hidalgo & Hidalgo, Herdoiza Crespo, Fopopeca, Constructora del Litoral, Colisa, and Consorcio Constructora Nacional Chusho and Verdu, Palacios said. Works are scheduled to last 24 months.

Five enterprises presented proposals to execute expansion, improvement and maintenance works on the 38km Carmen-La Crespa highway: Verdu, Hidalgo & Hidalgo, Equitesa-Equipos y Técnicos, Fopeca, and Herdoiza Crespo Construcciones.

Expansion and improvement works are scheduled to last 20 months, while maintenance works will last 24 months.

The projects will be awarded to the enterprises whose proposals best meet the government's needs, the minister said. A number of infrastructure works are being planned and carried out in an effort to improve the province's connectivity and commercial trade.
