June 2018, MEXICO CITY - Dated 31 January 2018, the National Insurance and Surety Commission, the Mexican insurance regulator, granted Liberty Mutual Insurance Company permission to establish a representation office in Mexico. The office will provide a full range of commercial products, including Property, Construction and Energy, Casualty, Environmental, Financial Lines, Marine and other specialty products.
Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, with more than two decades offering best-in-class insurance and reinsurance services and products in Latin America, has operations in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Puerto Rico and has become one of the largest providers of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance in the region.
The new office will be led by Alvaro Salamanca as CEO, Alvaro previously served as CEO of Chubb and XL Insurance in Mexico and as a partner of the consulting firm 3C de Mexico. He will report to Alexander Montoya, president of Liberty Specialty Markets Latin America, currently servicing the region from offices in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Puerto Rico and Miami.

The office will be located in Mexico City.
