Latin America ahead in S/4 Hana upgrade, confirms SAP
Latin American clients are among the most advanced in upgrading their management platforms to S/4 Hana, German enterprise software giant SAPsaid.
More than "a dozen" customers in the region are currently upgrading at least part of their platforms to the ERP suite officially launched by SAP in February, Tonatiuh Barradas, VP of strategic industries for Latin America, told BNamericas.
SAP's Latin America president Rodolpho Cardenuto had previously told BNamericas the region was among the fastest adopters, but underlined communications infrastructure challenges were holding back further cloud implementation.
While Latin America was the leading region in the S/4 Hana adoption, Brazil is leading this process in Latin America, with at least three deals made public so far.
The first two were revealed at the SAP Forum in São Paulo in March: semiconductors developer Ceitec, and the country's largest reinsurance group, IRB.
The latest to be disclosed was healthcare company Diagnosticos da America (DASA).
During the SAPPHIRE event in Orlando, SAP also announced the availability of all S/4 Hana modules on the cloud. Previously, only a few features were cloud-available. S/4 Hana is also available on-premise.
This means clients can now run the entire ERP on the cloud, with the modules for finance, manufacturing, sales, service, sustainability, supply chain, research and development, asset management and procurement.
According to Barradas, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina are other countries where contracts have been signed. One was with Mexican food company La Costeña.
